On Ice Projection

I love watching this stuff. Especially on ice. It is like one giant canvas for projection. The possibilities are endless with video projection.

Human Canvas #2

I'm generally open minded about art but i feel that this is possibly just another way to shock people. I feel that we're reaching a time where its thought everything has been done already so why not repeat something which is very shocking to the modern world.

Art made out of objects (class project)

Legos

I love how they turned a the portrait of the mona lisa into an image using legos. It looks like a digital pixilated version of the mona lisa and i think it is brilliant

Emoji Portraits

I love this! I always love seeing people take ordinary everyday things that wouldn't be seen as "a work of art" and then they turn it into one. would have never thought to make a portrait out of emojis.

Pony Express

I would have loved to have experienced then Pony Express. It was such an important factor in messaging and sending packages. Changing the world.

Radio

Radio is still a major technology used today just as much as it was used back in the day. I don't think radio will die any time soon and will keep going strong for years to come.

Moving On

I really love this one. The animation was so beautifully done and really amazing production. Plus the story made it that much better.

Bottle #2

The amount of effort that went into making this video is astounding :O

Little Nemo

I am in 3D animation right now, and this just absolutely jaw dropping. Emile Cohl prior to this was impressive, but McCay practically invented western cartoon vocabulary as we know it with this short. To have gone from stick figures and chalk drawings to this--pitch-perfect perspective, consistently on-model characters that rotate, and is elaborately appealing.

Trip To The Moon

Every time I see this movie, I don't know why but it really entertains me. Maybe its because it is interesting to see just how far film has come today. Or maybe its because of how bad the acting is? Either way, very comical and interesting to me.

Broadway

I personally am not a fan of Broadways. But I did enjoy the behind the scenes of Wicked. I thought it showed the show from a different viewpoint and it shed light on different aspects of the show that I never would have thought of.

3D Print Explained

I did my 3D print on pandoras box. There are many myths, that attempt to explain the beginnings of human beings and why there is evil, hate, war, and disease. In many stories and theories, there are devils that are released when humans disobey gods. So this is my weapon in 3D form.

Paper Airplanes

I feel like the paper airplane experiment was a success. It demonstrated how hard it is to make something aerodynamic. When we threw the airplanes in the classroom, I thought there was a better outcome because there was no wind to interfere with the flight of the airplane. Unlike outside when we threw the airplanes off the parking garage, the wind took the planes and didn't give an accurate representation of the flight.

19th Century Opera

Opera in the 19th Century had many women who dominated opera from the mid 19th century. It was said that no male singer was more popular. People like Adelina Patti, Jenny Lind, and Natalie Melba were all sopranos. A soprano is the highest female voice that has the flexibility to handle the most brilliant music. Opera singers attained a huge fortune and it was common for them to flaunt their wealth. Opera in the 19th Century had no particular unity to it. The only thing that had any form of unity was in the stage design. Rehearsals were rare and the singers would almost never rehearse with the rest of the cast. The singer was always center stage and looked as if they ignored everything else.

Mise-en-scene is everything that appears in the framing. So this would include actors, lighting, décor, props, costume, etc. It is a French word that means “placing on stage”. Another thing that is considered part of the mise-en-scene is the camera work and framework of a movie. In cinema, the placement on the stage is important because that is how it appears on the screen. The director is in charge of deciding on what goes where, at what time, and how. Basically, if it is on the screen and if it is a physical object that gets recorded by the camera, then it is part of the mise-en-scene. Academically speaking, mise-en-scene is the collaboration of many professionals in the production environment. Everyone in the production such as the prop master, the set designer, the actors, or the make up artists all have an influence in the mise-en-scene.

In the opera I watched, I discovered that the singer had the crowd all to himself. The audience reacted in a positive way. Technology is used in opera because of acoustics and sometimes in the performance the performers are hoisted up using hydraulics or pulley systems that levitate them.

Pjotr Sepegin's Madama Butterfly

I don't really know what to say about this video... It was really weird and awkward and I didn't want to continue watching after the first minute. Also, I don't really understand the concept of it.

What Is Art & Technology?

I think art is the human imagination put into visual form. Technology is the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes. Put together, I think Art and Technology is a demonstration of visual images and how they interrelate with technology. There is a lot of emphasis on modern technology such as radio, television, computers, and the internet. My opinion of Art and Technology is that it is an interesting combination. I am interested in learning more about todays technology.
